Things you did not know about Syra Shehroz

The glamorous-girl-next-door Syra Shehroz has been in public eye for long. We have seen her metamorphosis from a young model, to a bubbly Vj, then marking her forté into acting and not shying away when the golden opportunity knocked that gave her the chance to explore the big screen with a major Pakistani movie Chalay Thay Saath. Her journey doesn’t end there.

We have gathered up some of the interesting professional and personal facts about Syra Shehroz, to get to know our favourite celebrity a bit more.

How it all began?


Youngest among the four sisters, Syra was born in Karachi on April 20, 1988. She was raised in Peshawar and did her early schooling from the Institute of Learning & Motivation (ILM). Syra hailed from a film-loving family. As a little girl, she was passionate about making her mark in the showbiz industry. Following the success of her older sister Alishba, she didn’t take long to enter the glitzy world she has been destined to. Her sister Palwasha also worked as a VJ for some time before starting her career as a freelance fashion stylist and designer for films and TV commercials. The girls had lost their eldest sister Ruqaiya fighting the battle with cancer.

When the Lady Luck Smiled


Teenage Syra entered the world of entertainment as a model; however her major break on TV came in 2010 when she got nominated as a VJ on MTV Pakistan. Her shows Bheja Fry and Most Wanted became tremendous hits with the channel and audiences couldn’t help falling in love with the charming host. Proving her mettle as a successful VJ, the rising star headed to make a smashing entrance in TV serials. Her debut drama Mera Naseeb was a huge hit with the masses, not only her acting was critically acclaimed but she had also received Pakistan Media Awards for Best Actress Female Debut for her immaculate portrayal of the character played. Since then there is no looking back, Syra became the darling of the directors and has worked in hit dramas such as Mohabbat Rooth Jaye Toh, Bilqees Kaur, Coke Kahani and Tanhaiyan Naye Silsilay to name a few.

Going Places


With her girl-next-door charm, Syra became the face of many popular brands and starred in a variety of promotional campaigns. She was the official face of Al Karam Lawn 2016 and Zara Shahjahan lawn for the years 2016/17. So far Syra has appeared in more than 50 TV commercials for the leading brands of Pakistan. She was the face of her sisters’ clothing line Kaasni, when the brand was first introduced in 2011. Besides appearing in local commercials, the uber glamorous diva has modeled for coveted Indian jewellery brand, Prerto. Bollywood starlets Sonam Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha and Shraddha Kapoor have also done celebrity endorsements for Prerto.

Wedding Bells


Syra married her teenage sweetheart Shahroz Subzwari, son of the famous television actor Behroz Subzwari, on 21st October 2012. Their wedding is still considered among the top events held in Pakistani drama industry. Prior to getting married the two have acted in a drama serial Tanhaiyan: Naye Silsilay, later they did couple of projects and a 2015 movie Love You Babylicious. The young couple is blessed with an adorable baby girl Nooreh. Also known by her Instagram name sairoz, she often shares lovable photos of doting young parents with the love of their lives, to her huge fan following on social media.
